Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging Plc happily announces our successful development of CPP Retort grade film. This film has excellent seal strength and superior bond strength with good performance during retort/sterilization process versus normal grade CPP film.
The retort pouch is a very demanding package that consists of a multi-layer laminate that will be processed like a can, will be shelf-stable, and allows the convenience of frozen boil-in-the-bag products. It may be composed of an outer layer of polyester film, a middle layer of Polyamide film and an inner layer of modified Retort grade Cast polypropylene film and all it varieties. Material for retort pouches must provide superior barrier properties over a long shelf life, seal integrity and toughness/puncture resistance, and must withstand the thermal rigors of a canning process, which might have temperatures up to 135 °C (275 °F). The advantage of the retort pouch over a can is its flatter shape compared to the round shape of a can; thus, a more uniform heat and less heat is required to bring the temperature in the product center to the safe level.
